I've been voted by a number of curious cats to be in the hot seat in the community boards of pRO Chaos. Here are a few of the highlights (Questions and Answers) that i'd love to share with everyone:

(Interviewer: Briar Rose part 1)

1. What is the most striking about being the famous Polgara of Philippine Ragnarok Online?
- I'm probably one of the few RL girls in RO who don't mind to be thought of as a guy. It helps my game, and as far as pRO is concerned.... i'm all about the game and the people inside it.

2. What is in this forum site that you like the most?
- Love Hut. It makes posters seem human.

3. What has been your most rewarding experience as a member of this forum site and being an online gamer?
- I would never have had the opportunity to meet the most fascinating and impressive people if not for this game.

4. What is the hardest part about it?
- Sacrificing a lot of RL stuffs. Losing some RL friends. Drawing lines to people who would have lasted a lot longer in my life if I met them under RL conditions.

5. You've collaborated with so many people over the years. Who have been your favorite people to work with?
- Leic. I've usually always been Alpha female in any place i chose to be in. But i know an Alpha male if i saw one. This is one Alpha male i would gladly bow to. Born leader. 
- MarlouDaManiac. No conversation with him is ever boring. He is very humble and generous to a fault.
- [restless]. All heart. All guy. All-everything.

6. Are there any members here you haven’t had the chance to know but would like be friends with?
Salleh. I met him in my first guild but never really knew him RL.

7. Where is the most surprising place you’ve heard you alias “Polgara” and did you informed the people around that it was you they are talking about?
- RWC 2004 (Folk Arts Theater) while lining up to buy corn dogs. People were talking about blaksmiths and my name was mentioned among a group just behind me. I just turned around and gave them a smile.

2.sabi mo may anak ka na...pano mo nababalance yung RO,study saka family
I work at home (I graduated na), home-based, internet-based yung nature ng job ko so mostly I'm just in front of a PC. Maliit pa yung baby so sa ngayon madali pa mag-alaga while working. Pag tulog na siya, libreng libre na akong mag-work. Mahirap, pero kaya naman. Sanay na.

3.anung guild ang pinakaiinisan mo?
UT (yung present). This guild is perhaps the original "bad boy" in pRO politics, before the founders and pioneers retired. I'm so sad and disappointed with how the current guild performed in RPC 2006. Alam kong kasama sa foundation ng faction namin ang guild na ito, so I could only hope they play a better role in the next tournaments.

4.kung magiging presidente ka ng pilipinas ano una mong project?
I-develop ang lahat ng railways sa Pilipinas, most especially the ones that go from the city to the small towns. Hindi lang basta develop, gawing state-of-the-art pa. Historically, walang first world country na nagpabaya sa mga railways nila. It would encourage technology and development to move from city to province, and raw resources to move from province to city. 

5.bukod sa MS anu pa favorite mong job?
Hmm. Ahm.... wala akong ibang nilaro except MS for the past years, pero now nagugustuhan ko ang Star Gladiator dahil sa kakaibang role play na dinu-dulot nya sa imagination ko. Reminds me of the days I spent in the past dwelling on the occult and psychic stuff. I guess, i miss reading the stars and tarot.

6.ano mas gusto mo jollibee or mcdonald?at bakit?
Mcdonalds. Mas masarap yung chicken at yung fries.

7.sa tingin mo anu ung naging past life mo kung naniniwala ka man..
Naniniwala ako na recycled soul ako. If i were to meditate on my past life based on my personality, needs and earthly urges, I think I would have been...

Wiz. Makakatulog ako in the middle of siege, just casting LOV and SG.

9.pinaka favorite mong headgear...
Tiara. For sentimental reasons. This is the first nice headgear anyone has ever given me in RO. I was levelling alone in CT4 and an FS priest kept buffing me when he saw me. I said "naiinggit ako sa mga naka-tiara" when we chatted through PM and he said "sige tara sa pront i'll buy you one".

1. What have you learned from this game thay to were able to use in real life situations.
-I've learned that teamwork plays a big role in any competition. A team must be led by the person with the strongest personality or else it will crumble. Everyone in the team is important and no one has the right to make the other leave the team, just because of petty personal reasons.

2. How do you explain to your acquintances your addiction to this game? of course
some of them might think RO gamers as childish or downright weird.
I used to party RL with my girl friends, but at the middle of the drinking and the dancing, i'd suddenly miss RO and tell them so. They'd laugh and call me a big geek. Then i told them something that got them thinking ... I said.... "Can you find another place in the world where guys are more abundant than the bubbles in your beer? It's raining men in online games, sisters, and i'm swimming in the puddles. Eat your hearts out."
 
3. Other than RO, do you have other hobbies? if your not in RO what thighhs do you do?
I'm into fortune telling, occult, tarot and astrology. I'm also into communicating and mingling with people who can speak French (so i can practice it).

In Game
1. Give a situation where you were so proud of your WS/BS.
In the first EB of UT-Aftermath, gigler introduced me to the crowd over the microphone. He said "Eto kilala nyo na siguro sa RO pero ngayon nyo lang nakita. Si Polgara." Everyone was clapping and whistling in amazement (probably because they weren't expecting me to be a girl RL and have a character like her). I was so proud of my alter ego that time that i almost burst out in tears right there and then.   

2. When do use usually go OL? How many hours a day?
I used to be on 24/7 when i lived alone in pasay. Now, I'd go OL whenever i'd siege  lang.

3. What's with the BS that made it so attractive to your playing style?
It can make big money out of nothing. It is the most complex job in RO because you can play it several ways... as a vendor, as a forger, as a fighter or as a support main man during team battle. Besides, it is the best looking class in RO IMHO. I can just sit in my PC looking at my char vending for hours coz she looks so hot. Especially when fighting.

1. What makes Polgara a unique character?
She earned her reputation as a bad-<word filtered!>, trash-talking chixilog in game, but she's driven by an RL girl who is malambing and playful.

2. What is your favorite restorative item?
Yggberries and Yggseeds. And right now, strawberries, yum.

3. What is your first card?
Drainliar card. lol.

4. What matters to you more? decent equipment or playing skills?
Playing skills. Anyone can php bosscards and equips, but not everyone can play the skills well. And on a more current note, boss items and equips may be duped, but RL playing skills and devotion to the game can never be duped.

5. If Cart Termination will be a ranged skill but will cost twice per skill use, will you go for it? Why or why not?
Yeah!!!! Zeny is easy to come by if you set your heart in getting it.

For Real
1. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Half-full. Optimism rox.

2. Are you a deadline-driven person?
Yes. My routine is very tick-tock. I set deadlines to everything, and I try to meet them.

3. If NASA needs a woman to be flown to Venus for 7days and luckily you are the chosen one, what are you going to do first after you come back to Earth?
Take a bath in earth water. Teach people how to speak the Venusian language. Make a press con, including one with Kris Aquino.

4. What scares you most?
Not being in control of things. Being enclosed figuratively and literally.

5. What movie genre do you enjoy the most?
Adventure, fantasy, hard-core action....

1) In the very few months (yet very meaningful for both of us) that we've been talking to each other, what am I to you? Have I been significant in your life?
Ikaw ay naging tapat na kaibigan, karamay at kakampi. Seriously. You have been an inspiration to me in RO to do better with my game. IRL, your love for your family has motivated me to love my own parents and siblings more.

2) In our few months of being very close to each other, what can you assess in our relationship with each other?
You're my opposite. I learned a lot from your experiences and i know you've
learned a lot from mine.

Am I being illogical at times? You can never be illogical even if you tried. You're very careful about how you deal with people

Am I being very super-sensitive at times? Do I act like a spoiled brat?
Yes. Sometimes.

3) In 5 years, what are you and your boyfriend are planning?
Pave the way for the development of a really cool and motivated young man... our son. We promised each other the best teamwork in making this happen. That includes not letting our own personal idiosyncracies and habits get in the way of our ultimate goal. 

4) Where are you planning to enroll AJ? And why?
There is a school near our place where he can get his pre-school diploma. This is just for getting his certificate, because I and his dad will be tutoring him anyway. If I can, I want him to study in a good exclusive school, like LSGH, since most of the guys i met who graduated from this school (including you) have been the best in anything they put their hearts in.

5) I know I've offended you a number of times. What is the worst?
When we're both in a bad mood and we impulsively discuss sensitive issues relating to RL and RO.

1. Trapped alone in a building. I was renting a studio-type apartment near la salle with a friend before I went solo. She was out of town (it was a weekend, sat morning) and I was alone in a 6-floor building where most of the tenants are students (who were also away for the weekend). I got locked inside a 1.5 x 2.5 meter bathroom (it felt a lot smaller though) after I took a shower. It turns out, the knob in the bathroom got rusted by shower spray and gave out right at that moment. I screamed and screamed for around 2-3 hours but the whole building was empty. Luckily, some maintenance guys were checkin' the plumbing somewhere inside the next building and they heard me screaming out my unit number and floor number. You can just imagine them outside the door figuring out how to break in (naka-bolt), and i was crying, "Pasukin nyo na 'tong unit, hindi ko na kaya!" They destroyed the glass in our window to open the door. They managed to do so and they kicked the door of the bathroom several times to get me out. Inabutan nila ako nakacurl up and nakaupo sa sahig ing CR dressed only in my towel, crying my heart out. Until now, I still thank God that the guys that He sent to save me were God-fearing family men who didn't take advantage of my situation. If they raped me there, no one at all will be around to hear it.

2. Pasay City, Libertad area. I was renting an apartment solo when a gang fight broke out just below my unit out on the streets, in the middle of the night. It was my habit to keep the windows open since nasa second floor naman ako and may bolted gate sa baba, and also because i was claustrophobic already because of experience #1. My window was sort of facing the street and I was sleeping in my sala near the window. Suddenly, a weird container came flying in my window and a  weird smell filled my small apartment. Nagbatuhan pala ng home-made bombs yung gangs na nag-aaway sa baba, may nag-ricochet na isa, pumasok sa apartment ko. I wasn't sleeping deeply so I got up agad, rushed to get the container (which was HOT) and threw it away again sa balcony.  I heard a small ominous thud as the container hit the ground. My hands were burned a bit, but at least I was alive.

My viewpoint is idealistic but liberated.

I will ban cigarettes from the planet earth. And send the last remaining tobacco seeds out to space. I'll stand at the foot of the NASA spacecraft where the seeds are about to be launched and say "Goodbye, b*tch!!!!"

I was into witchcraft. Just for fun. Some light love spells that I can "uto" my friends about. Hahaha.

2. How did you learn tarot card reading?
My sister gave me a book and then i bought a tarot deck. Experimented with it for a while, until people started getting their fortunes told and some of my "bola" actuallly came true.

3. In-love ka ba ngaun?
I'm in love with life, so that means i'm in love all the time. Pero, yeah i'm in love right now.

4. Are you happy with your life?
Very much. It's going as i planned.

5. Ano pala name ng anak mo?
Ayrsayle James. The first name is given by his dad (name nung alter ego ng dad nya, which he invented when he was in high school and is also his in game name). The second name i gave him myself. We call him AJ all the time or James (when his dad's not around).

6. Ilan taon na anak mo?
One. Medyo late na din ako nagka-baby.

7. Kung meron kang taong pasasalamatan, sino ito at ano ang mensahe mo para sa kanya?

To God, who never left me, even when i left him.

To Ayrsayle (my best friend) for his seed, and for his devotion as a father to our baby.

To my many housemates, landlords and neighbors i met throughout the years i spent living at different places, thanks for the bedspace, apartment leases and the company.

Dear Armada. The strongest guild in pRO. And my online family. Thank you for the fun. May we continue to be loyal to each other and continue to support our leaders' decisions. Sabi nga ni Pilot, ang bawat ka-Armada namin no need sweldo yan. Stay strong and carpe diem!

1. if you were forced to trade your WS with any other Trans Class which one would it be and why?

Creator. So that I could just leave it to vend while i dream and cry about the WS that i was forced to trade out.

2. midgard politics isn't as dynamic as iRL politics, there are hardly any elections for leaders. political structure is mostly an oligarchy of the founding fathers/mothers (for the sake of being politically correct. laugh.gif ). do you think that this world has a place for new leaders?

Yeah, people with initiative to take the politics in this game to another level. He must be able to face the fact that some people are really here to play lang, and dont lose sleep thinking about politics. He must also be ready to face ridicule and walls of disbelief from people who are "tra-po" (traditional politicians), who are not open to change. A real maverick who's up to the task will get the respect he deserves for sure.

3. if you were the one to decide for armada. would you rise to the call of opposition leaders to have a united server?

Yes and No. Yes, because on a grand and dramatic scale, Chaos must be united. It would be the ideal ending for the game to some of us who are looking to retire. No, because the level of mistrust in Chaos is too deep and wounds too sore for political leaders here to take the merge as a cohesive thing. The words thrown at each other cannot be undone, the reactions too varied.

4. how do you perceive other guilds that go up against armada? particularly SoTR?

Carnage. Bloody carnage. Affront at the nerve to go up against the strongest guild. bwahaha. Seriously though, total respect. If they're not there, we wouldnt have a good game. They make WOE fun for me and my guild. It saddens me that legokidd got banned, and am worried that this might affect his members because for sure, Chaos is more alive with him in the game.

5. give me 3 players from chaos who you don't like tell me why.

mostly scammers:
prince[mc21] - if i could be the hand of God, i'd hack this person right now.
the one who copies my name to scam people- F**k you. you dont deserve to play this game.
nothing follows- i like everyone just because they play RO.


6. what is it about your personality/assets/anything about your RO Alter Ego which you value the most? it can be an item or something else.

Her personality. She's so big in terms of almost RL characteristics. She's so tough and bad@SS that her RL gender is so contested about that it takes some loud proclamation of "I'm a GIRL!!!!" to people to really convince them. And even then, they're still not convinced.

7. if you could ban 3 people in RO who would it be? why?
no one really. everyone's a good addition to the game

It was solved logically. They attacked the God's sense of self, which is the only thing really that makes someone feel like a god.

4. Was your first BS banned because it was edited?
No. I don't think i would have had the chance to be cleared, if that were the case. And besides, I don't have money. Since the trend during that time was to pay a lot to an IT guy to get in game priviledges, even if i wanted to,  was saving up for a possible Caesarian operation that cost more than a plasma tv. I could only think that they pinned the hacking thingie to someone else so they cleared me. Or they just assumed that the items i had were fairly traded and decided to give me another chance. Or that im too much of an adik to be a bot. Nonetheless, I was too busy and far gone in my pregnancy that time to really think about it.

5. If you were single and if Strongbone courted you, would you be his girl? How about Leic? Angelo? Salleh? Waukeen? Haha =).

20. How did you learn to speak French? Why did you choose French language amonst others? Why not Nippongo or Mandarin or German or etc.?
I studied at L'alliance Francaise de Manille in Makati. I believe that if i can handle the French language, i can handle all else. It's unbelievably tough.

You are firm and in control of your emotions. You are tactful and reasonable. You are never unfair. You're great as an admin here.

talented, fun and incredibly imaginative

Nasa loob ang kulo.

4. What is your reaction when you first saw the signature that I made for you?

Astounded and honored. I could not make something like that even in my dreams. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, "kung talent ang usapan, si Angelo never matatalo."

5. If I were to make you another signature what would it be or what would it look like?
Polgara surrounded by boys. Like Marlou's sig that you also made.

6. Where is my tele clip?
Used by my bot. I'm keeping it to remind you to never drop any item in RO again, even as a joke.

7. If you were given a chance to administrate the boards in one day what would you do?
Create and never close an open forum thread. It's a bull session for anyone who has something to say to anyone else. I don't care if puro <word filtered> and mabasa ko dun, as long as the members can let loose some steam. Rants section never quite did this.

Yes!!!! I've always admired the gay people who can stand up for what they are. And with all the freedom from pressure of building a family, they can excel in anything they want. A lot of gay people are very very rich.

b. Maybe in the future when your child is already mature would you let him live on his own just like you or have him by your side?
As soon as he can, I want him to fend for himself and be independent. The training i got from my being financially independent at 21, and being alone in the city at 17 onwards, made me stronger than i could have been had I stayed under my parents' protection longer.

c. What if he has a lot of girls? What would you do?

Yes it is!!! I've always given chat priority to people who know about David Eddings. It's so cool that a lot of people recognize it!!!

2. Is there anything in the world you would gladly trade your soul for?
Real World Peace. And peace of mind.

3. What are your fears? Do you scare easily?
I'm scared of people getting hurt. I'd go out of my way to protect and defend my friends and loved ones vs. adversity. But I know i can't do this most of the time so I'm always scared. Other fears? Hmm.... Commitment. Restriction. Enclosed Spaces (I'm claustrophobic).

Join Youth for Christ. It's strange that i joined because of my different, unconventional views on God and spirituality.

I dont have a pet anymore. My dog died due to a genetic disease. No i won't eat dog meat, even if you disguise it as goat meat. I know the smell.

My mom. She went from scratch to being a successful business woman, despite people putting her down.

Hilarious and Exciting. If I were to be an astral traveller looking for someone to make a book about, I would choose mine. You can't imagine how profound and touching my experiences have been.

When my parents forcibly sent me to UP Manila to study. Forcibly, because I didn't
want to leave my boyfriend in the province then. If I didn't do what my parents wanted, I would have been married at 18 to a guy who cared more for himself than anyone else. I would have never known how to be financially independent, carefree and in control of my destiny.

I was amazed at how diverse life experiences have been for different people. I'm drinking them all in and learning from them.

6. If there’s one thing in your life that you could go back and do differently, what would it be?
I wouldn't have given my virginity to my first BF. He didn't deserve it. I was young, blind and in love... and stoooopppiiiidddd!!!!

I go out, drink coffee at starbucks, contact a friend and go have fun.

Refer to my answers to #6. However, if his personal thing bears fruit, i will scold him first for not being more careful, then we'll sit down and talk seriously about the financial side of his stupidity (getting the girl pregnant). I'll ask him what the girl plans to do, kung iiwan sa kanya yung baby or she expects na panagutan niya. It's his kid. I don't really care about what happens to the girl (unless she's also my friend), but i care about his kid. I'll help him through it all.... and THEN, i'll scold him again for not wearing a condom (30 pesos lang naman kasi, di pa gumamit amp!)

Then a nice, friendly, platonic coffee date just to weigh in the chemistry. Then... pause... a long time of friendship to allow the "sexual tension" to build and brew. What happens next is up to him.
